Hi Asod, sent a recent observation of this magnificent nebula in the constellation of Aquila, has a very important and brightness donut shaped reminiscent lyra M 57, with the help of a filter details are more noticeable, and renamed to this object , the small ring Aquila.

There are some very fine craters to be found in the lunar highlands among the look-alike craters there. Two that I have included in this sketch are craters Stofler (125 km.) and Faraday (70 km.). Many of the craters in the region have large smooth regions on their floors. The remains of the eastern wall of Stofler form a rampart between older Stofler and Faraday and can be seen near Stofler’s center. The Faraday impact moved the east wall like an enormous excavator. On the south rim of Faraday sit two more overlapping craters, Stofler P (33 km.) and Faraday C (30 km.). That makes 4 fairly large overlapping craters in a small lunar region and many, many more small ones beyond resolution.
Sketching:
For this sketch I used: black Strathmore 400 Artagain paper, 6”x 11”, white and black Conte’pastel pencils, white pearl eraser and blending stumps.

Here’s my impression of M16, a large star-forming nebula with inside of it a brilliant cluster of newborn stars in the constellation of Serpens. It was made on the 10th of August at my little observatory in Carù, Italy. Equipment used was my 18″ f/4,45 homemade Dob with 40mm Siebert VP Echelon binoviewer, a couple of Explore Scientific 24mm 82° eyepieces and a Baader OIII filter. Conditions were rather good and I could even make out the main “pillar of creation” as a small dark lane in the nebula’s centre. I captured the image with an ordinary pencil on white paper and afterwards elaborated it on the pc, trying to make the final result as realistic as possible. I sincerely hope you like it!

Hello! Last night I observed the most beautiful globular cluster of our sky. M13, also known as “Hercules Cluster”, has a a diameter of about 110 ly and is about 23500 ly away”!!! It’ s fantastic to see, is my favourite DSO. I obseverd it with my dobsonian telescope 10” f/5, with two different eyepiece: WA 12mm (104x) and SuperPlossl 9mm (138x), it’ s always wonderful!

Hello to all,

Today we had a sunny morning, only the sky was crossed with light cirrus clouds. Why shouldn’t I look to the sun? The sun came up with some sunspot groups and an bright area (maybe flares?) on me. I could not help, I took the drawing pad an my pencil and start to draw. Maybe the sunspots in overview are little bigger than they real were, but I think the details outside the circle are located close to the original. Hope you like it too.

• Location: Bonilla-Cuenca Spain

• inverted colors with GIMP 2.8

Observation notes:

The supernova is shown as a little star in the middle of the southern disk of the galaxy. Of the five stars, I meet in front of M 74, the supernova is closest to its center.

Its brightness is very similar to the nearest star to the west and also to the middle star of the three that are on the eastern edge of the disc (picture below).
