Dear All,

I grabbed an observation of a real cracking Arp galaxy in Leo Minor before work this morning at 05.30am. The sky was the most transparent that I have enjoyed in 2014 thus far.
I hope that my sketch and detail map of Arp 206 are of interest?

Best wishes to all, Dale

  1. Hi Dale,

An impressive sketch of two faint ones in the distance.
    Excellent work my friend.

    Frank 🙂

  2. Dale, great sketch of such an interesting galaxy. Was that viewed through your 20″ scope and what power?

    John

  3. Thanks everyone for your nice comments 🙂

Hello John, in answer to your question, no it wasn’t observed through my 20″, it was observed using a Watec deep sky video camera fixed at prime focus and sketched in virtual real time (20 sec intergration delay) from a b&w monitor. The small and relatively cheap video camera allows my 20″ mirror to show me what a 40″ mirror would through an eyepiece 😉
    Clear skies, Dale
