Messier 82 and SN2014J
Messier 82 and SN2014J

Hey ASOD!

I send a sketch of the great supernova in the galaxy M.82.
I could not detect any color in this SN, it looked white to me!
I also observed the SN in M.81 in 1993 (ASOD-gallery).
My sketch here is made with colorcrayons on black paper.
Location: Trondheim, Norway. Info on my sketch.

Best wishes from Per-Jonny Bremseth.

Halley’s Comet

Comet 1P/Halley
Comet 1P/Halley

Hey Artists!

My sketch here, shows the famous comet Halley as seen at its best from Norway.
The bright coma had a drop-form, and a halo was seen in the outer coma to west.
In my 10 x 50 binos, the tail was narrow and 2 deg. long. Info on my sketch.
Halley returns in 2061, so good luck to the younger observers!
I used colour crayons on black paper.
Location : Trondheim, Norway.

Best wishes from : Per-Jonny Bremseth.

Partial Solar Eclipse – August 1, 2008

Partial Solar Eclipse - August 1, 2008
Partial Solar Eclipse - August 1, 2008

Hey, I send my drawing of a solar eclipse in August 2008. Eclipse was seen in Poland as a partial. In some parts of the world, it was complete. Since we have completed four years of this beautiful phenomenon, I want to bring these beautiful memories. Although the phase of maximum eclipse in Poland amounted to only about 40% of it was my najpiękniesze of solar eclipses. In Poland Psary eclipse started at 10:55, then there was a phase maximum at 11:49 and at 12:43 finally eclipse ended.
Hours are given during the summer in Poland. Despite the lapse of four years, still treasure the unforgettable moments for which I thank God.
Thanks and best regards

Occultation of Jupiter

Occultation of Jupiter
Occultation of Jupiter

Hey,

I send my sketch of the “Occultation of Jupiter”

Sketch shows a moment of Jupiter by the Moon Cloak and umbrella immunity telescope eyepiece at 120x magnification. God heard my prayers! Despite the terrible weather the moon emerged from behind the clouds. The view was magnificent. Emotions reached its zenith. Sketch was made before the moon covered the planet. Unfortunately I did not see the moons of Jupiter as the light clouds hamper perception. I hope you managed to show this phenomenon :))
In addition, the nature of the country lent incredible experience.

Object name: Occultation of Jupiter
Location: Psary in Poland
Date: July 15, 2012 3:32 pm
Media: Pencil 2B, blue crayons, white paper. Background and field of view was created in GIMP
Thanks and regards :)))))))

Fragmenting of C/1996 B2 (Hyakutake)

C/1996 B2 (Hyakutake)
C/1996 B2 (Hyakutake)

Hey Artists!

I send you “fragmenting of C/ 1996 B2 Hyakutake”.
For visual observers much happened in the coma of this nearby, fastmoving great comet.
With a scope you could see the false nucleus with a bright, fan-shaped structure tailward and great shockbows sunward! The outer part of the bows were faint, so the sketch is enhanced. More info on the sketch.
I used crayons on black paper.
From Trondheim, Norway.

Best wishes, Per-Jonny Bremseth.

Messier 64 – The Black Eye Galaxy

Messier 64
Messier 64

Hey Artists!

I send you M. 64 (Black eye).
It is a lens-shaped galaxy with a bright core. The dark band was seen, but the contrast was low.
A faint star was seen just east of the core, but I think its a star in our “Milky way”.
The outer part of the galaxy was diffuse and difficult to see an edge. Info on my sketch.
The sketch was made from Trondheim, Norway with crayons on black paper.

Best wishes from Per-Jonny Bremseth.

Transit of Venus from the Temple of Apollo

Hey Artists!

It is now One year left to the last transit of Venus across the sun for this time!
It happens on the “wrong side” of the earth for us in Norway, but in northern Norway
we can see it low over horizon in the night (midnightsun).
I enjoyed the transit in 2004 in Greece. Info on my sketch! I used crayons and pencil.

Best wishes for this on “the other side”!!

Per-Jonny Bremseth.

In the Wake of a Nova

.

Hey Artists!

I send you the western part of this remnant, N.G.C. 6960.
Blocking out the star 52, showed, (the northern part) this snake- like ghost between the stars.
A bigger scope would show filaments, but I was happy only to find this remnant.Info on sketch.
I used crayons on black paper, and the observation was done from Trondheim, Norway.

Best wishes from Per-Jonny Brem

Total Eclipse in Malindi

Hey artists!

This is my first and only total eclipse of the sun. It is only > one thing to say, beautiful, and this is still
my finest minutes as an amateurastronomer!
The eclipse started with a long lasting diamondring, and ended > with a shorter one.
Info on my sketch!

Best wishes and clear sky from Per-Jonny Bremseth

Past friday I was leaving work, in a huge petrochemical industry located in Santo André, when I noticed a shy Moon beside the flare. I kept observing it a couple of minutes, and today, two days after, I decided to sketch it. This is a sample from what I’ve seen that afternoon, about 5h20min. pm local time. (GMT – 3h). Clear skies to everybody!
