Hello!
I would like to present you my latest sketch made at the astronomical meeting in the Bieszczady Mountains.
The second version is a little brighter for darker monitors

Object: Messier 97 (Owl Nebula)
Equipment: Meade Lightbridge 8” with LVW 13mm and UHC-S filter.
Technique: Pencil on white paper, inverted, some corrections with GIMP (especially stars)
Place and date: May 10, 2013. Natura Park, Stężnica, Bieszczady Mountains

  1. Great sketch Aleksander!

    In my dark monitor I cannot see M97 in the first sketch, instead in the second appear a diffuse spot. Is just like visual with my telescope. From my observing site, under urban skies, I cannot see M97, but with an OIII filter, M97 appear clearly.

    Yes. I also can’t see the M97 on my dark monitor. On the other it is better.
    The second picture prepared by Wimmer is a bit brighter.

    This is known problem: how to calibrate the LCD monitor for seeing the sketches and astronomy pictures/photos? On CRC I had no problems. But who still has CRC monitor… 😉

    Yeah,the eternal problem with monitor calibration. For so many years I was unable to find a solution 🙁
